From what I was able to gather, it would seem that
HeartlandAmerica.com had some complaints as far as customer service. Most of the complaints stemmed from customer service received in 2014. Although this is a negative part of the company, they have worked to resolve the issues. 2020 has seen a considerable drop in complaints and Heartland America continues to retain an A+ rating with the Better Business Bureau (BBB).

People be aware of HEARTLAND.Especially their Customerservice.
If they continue going down that Path they can call themselves ‘ DARKLAND ‘.
Here it is:
They sign you up to be a member at the Time you are placing your Order even you tell them you are not interested. They also will keep your Credit card Info on File even you tell them not to.
Also,they will keep charging you from here on automatically every year and they are not calling it membership fee on their Invoice instead they call it ‘ VALUE CLUB ‘.
If you missed to call to cancel before they charged your Card ( they are not suppose to have on File ) ‘ CATHY ‘ ( watch out for that one ) will not reverse the Charge.
They are dumb and they suck. The Boss should show up once in a while and fire some employees.
Will never buy from them again. Will burn all their Catalogs.
For $ 48 they lost a long term Customer for Life. SAD.
Heartland America’s customer service-return dept. SUCKS! I ordered a Solar Light set for my back yard and received it with 2 of the 4 units Broken in Sealed Poorly Packed Rice Paper Package. Since the other 2 were already installed and figured them to be considered used, returned the original package with 2 broken components with a note. I was denied any replacement. This establishment sold me a Cheap Defective Chinese Product and weaseled out of replacement using their Return Policy as an excuse for Poor Quality Control. Be Aware!

AND YET OUT OF THE BLUE I GET A CHARGE AND WHEN I CALL BOTH #’S ALL I GET IS “WHERE EXPERIENCING A HIGH VOLUME OF CALLS OR YOUR CALLING NOT IN OFFICE HOURS”. IM CALLING AT 11AM AND 1PM CENTRAL TIME. SO NOW ITS 2017 AND STILL NO MAGAZINE AND CANT LOG IN ON LINE AND YET $44.98 STILL BEING TAKEN FROM MY BACK ACCOUNT EVERY YEAR SINCE 2014. I DO NOT KNOW MY MEMBER SHIP “7 YEARS AGO” CANT LOOK AT A MAGAZINE “BECAUSE I DO NOT RECEIVE THEM OR MEMBERSHIP CARD ” I CAN NOT LOG ON LINE “THEY CLAIM MY 2 EMAIL’S DO NOT EXIST EVEN THO ITS MY ONLY 2 EMAILS I’V USED SINCE THE 90’S”. SO 2018 WITH NEW DEBT CARD, NEW SECURITY CODE, & NEW EXP DATE BECAUSE 2017 IN APRIL I HAD TO CANCEL THAT CARD DO TO BEING CHARGED FOR NO REASON. 2018 GOT CHARGED AGAIN. I EVEN WENT TO MY BANK IN SOUR LAKE AND HAD THEM CALL IN 2017. A PURE MIRACLE SOMEONE ANSWERED. THEY HAVE ME ON RECORDING NOT TO TAKE ANY $$$$$$$$$ FROM ME AGAIN. Hearthlandamerica.I have purchased two items from them the first one sent back and they sent another which didn’t work either. Got my money back on that one. The second one was a Bell&Howell solar power predator remover. Used water to scare them away.it was a joke couldn’t get water to quit leaking. Sent it back and got another the same thing couldn’t get water to quit leaking.sent it back July 6th. It is now August 10th they say they can’t find it. So now I’m out for the cost of the product and the $15.00 I paid to have it shipped. Richard Sellers.
