Cons: Wayfair Reviews
Yet the company still has a couple of negative aspects that you should be aware of in the Wayfair.com reviews.
First is that when issuing a refund, the total amount will have shipping fee deduct for the returns.
This means that you will not receive the full amount you paid for if you are returning an item.
Aside from that, their customer service needs improvement as well.
Many customers have complained about how they were treated rudely by their customer staff before and swore they will not deal with them in the future.

Have been buying from Wayfair for several years. Having a new home I made multiple purchases over the last year. Unfortunately, 75% of my purchases were either defective or simply needed a part replaced. Of course, it seems to be Wayfair’s policy to issue a replacement and not request the original item back. I have continued to donate my duplicates (animal shelters raising $, homeless shelters, fire victims…).
Recently purchased a ceiling fan which, after installation, I noticed was not level due to a manufacturer’s defect. I reached out to Wayfair via chat. The automated response was to agree to a discount and keep the item. I wanted the to reorder the fan and return the original (not an option). When I “declined” the keep/discount option, my chat directed me to call instead. I didn’t realize I was being “flagged” as a problem customer. I explained my issue but was told that I have had multiple issues with recent orders and they needed to investigate further. A few days later, I received an email from the Executive Resolution Dept. I was told that they would send me a return label to return the fan and that I could then reorder after that was received. Instead, I found that Lowes would price match so I purchased the replacement through them instead. The 2nd fan was fine.
Meanwhile, I purchased the Laurie Semi Flush Mount light fixture “open box.” Given my experience with defects, I chatted to confirm their return policy with OB… if it is defective, the no return OB option is nullified and they will correct any concerns. The fixture arrived intact but after installation I noticed the crystals were very cloudy. I reached out to Wayfair chat for help with how to clean the crystals but was unable to chat. I sent an Email which the Executive Resolution Dept. responded. I was told that I should not have attempted to chat because I would fill a spot that another customer could have taken (never told that previously). They were on the defense and told me that I could not return the light since it was installed (that was not the case with the defective fan!). I replied that I only wanted the manufacturer’s contact for cleaning instructions and did not wish to return the light at this point. They said they could not assist.
The manufacture’s website referred me back to the retailer/ Wayfair, however I was able to find their Email online myself (since Wayfair would not assist and took the defensive). The cleaning instructions they provided did not correct the problem so they informed me that they would reach out to Wayfair to see about a return. Wayfair told them I purchased an open box and was given a discount to accept a fixture in any form it arrived in. That is a blatant mistruth based on their return policy.
I now realize that, YES, 75% of my purchases over the last year have been problematic. Not sure why I needed the saga to open my eyes to that concern but I will no longer shop with Wayfair, nor do I recommend them. If they would simply request the damaged items back, they could see that consumers are not just stocking up on duplicates and that they have quality control issues with their manufacturers.
Just heard that Wayfair is accepting credit card numbers without requiring the security code on the back of the card. So if your card number has been hijacked, you can still be scammed with unwanted purchases. My boss was the twelfth claim filer with her bank in two days time. User beware!
And shame on Wayfair!
False/Incorrect description on a listing purchased. No response from Wayfair.
Hello;
Bought a chair from Wayfair as a xmas present for my son. Chair was advertised with adjustable arms and a vibration feature.
The chair that came in did not have any of these features. it is a good quality chair, but I paid more for this because of the advertised features that were not present.
Contacted Wayfair and they told me they have to research this.
I tried to return this chair with no response from Wayfair. Finally I get a response that they have revised their listing on their website, but still no answer on the incorrect product they provided. This has been over 2 weeks now and despite numerous emails and “chats” with them, I still have a chair that I did not order due to the incorrect/false advertising on their part.
Beware of the listings on Wayfair. This is the 2nd time I have dealt with them and had problems due to incorrect/false information provided in the item description.
At this point there is nothing I can do. The chair I have is NOT what I ordered and they stopped responding to me concerning a return of this incorrect product.
Stay away from this company. If something goes wrong, they are nowhere to be found and will ghost you.
Wayfair should be charged for fraudulently using credit card info without holder’s consent, I ordered an item and then cancelled everything that was ordered now many months later a 4300.00 chair gets delivered to my place and Wayfair somehow charged my credit card which had been canceled from the one they had on record, unbelievable, they can charge your credit card even though you never gave them either the info or permission, if it was anyone else they would get charged criminally. I guess the law is different for those who can afford it???
Wayfair shipped a large furniture order to an old address and would not change address of shipping, cancel order or refund my money. I spoke with numerous customer service reps and they just kept on shipping to wrong address and kept on charging me. PS I placed the order on the phone with customer service agent, not online. So, for a month furniture was going to my old apartment and then they has FEDEX reroute to other places in US…I was never in possession of goods. So now i am out almost $1700 and no furniture. I have filed with numerous federal agencies, so hope this helps!! Just stay away from Wayfair!!
In January I spotted a sofa & loveseat on the Wayfair website being offered by their vendor Gracie Oaks. I was refurbishing a condo on Martha’s Vineyard that I rent out and thought the set would be perfect. When I called their customer service for more information, I was told that shipping would be $150, even though they advertise free shipping. On February 5th I put in an order, same set, now being offered by vendor Coastal Farmhouse at a higher price. This time I was charged $300 for shipping because the two pieces were supposedly stored in two different warehouses. Of course, I was disappointed because I have bought from two competitors at other times and neither have ever charged me for shipping. In mid-March the loveseat was delivered in perfect condition. Two days later the sofa arrived and as soon as it was unpacked we found the rear left leg was smashed and the sofa was unusable. I notified Wayfair immediately and they responded quickly with a credit, reorder of another sofa and saying I did not have to return the damaged sofa. I refused because with COVID I had no way to dispose of it. The only alternative would have been to hire a truck to take it to the dump and pay dumping fees, even though the damage was not my fault. It took a bit of negotiating but they did arrange for a trucker to take it away. In the midst of this, I became aware of my association’s regulation that all rental units must have a sleep sofa, which my new sofa did not. However, I had a new sleep sofa at my home in CT. that would easily solve the problem, if I swapped the two. I also had a deadline to meet as our on island rental season begins in mid-May. I called Wayfair to confirm that I had enough time to change the delivery address on the replacement sofa which would need to come to CT. and they assured me that I did. The change was made and I was charged $10.60 for it. The charge appeared on my credit card. I then made arrangements, at my own expense, to have the sleep sofa brought to MA. and the new loveseat brought back to CT. Fast forward to April 22nd when I was traveling to the Vineyard for the annual owner’s weekend meeting. While waiting to board the ferry my phone rang and it was a trucker from the island who does deliveries who informed me that my new sofa had arrived and he would deliver it the following day. I informed him that it was supposed to go to CT., not the Vineyard, and he immediately emailed Wayfair. I then called customer service myself to report this and was told that the order called for Island delivery. When I informed him that I paid for a change of address he checked and then told me it had been refused. I asked why, when and if I was notified and he could not confirm that any were done. I wasn’t able to get any further with him so I asked to be transferred to whomever was in charge. After a 22 minute wait I was transferred to Susan, a team leader, who seemed to get to the heart of the matter immediately. As she reviewed my file she shared with me the timeline on the change of address was off in my file and she thought an error was made. She assured me that the new sofa would be rerouted to CT. and someone would be in touch with me regarding delivery. On May 19th, nearly a month later and beyond the opening of our rental season, I received a call that the sofa that was supposed to come to me was badly damaged upon inspection and they were cancelling the order and issuing me a credit. I reminded them that I now had a useless loveseat. When I tried to reach Susan about this, my emails and calls went unanswered. I persisted and spoke with another service representative who suggested that the loveseat be returned and credited, (they would waive the $176 pickup charge) and I should start fresh with a new order for everything. I was incredulous that anyone would think I would make a third attempt to buy from a company that had already sent me two damaged sofas and messed up a delivery address. However, I was then transferred to Kaila, another team leader, whom I must say, was efficient and made a valiant effort to make things right. At this point I also noted that this same furniture was now being offered by another vendor, Sand & Stable at a much reduced price. Three different vendors in four months?? Could it just be a marketing thing?? If I had not sent my sleep sofa up to the Vineyard, I would have missed the rental season deadline and unable to rent my unit. When I attempted to write a review on the Wayfair website I was informed that if an item is returned the account is closed and there is no opportunity for a review. How convenient for Wayfair! Sadly, this story does not have a happy ending and I am glad to step away from all of it…..knowing that I will never buy anything from Wayfair again! For the record, I have a new sofa coming from Amazon (by 7/6) & 2 chairs from Overstock (by 6/17) to replace the loveseat. P.S. no shipping charges either.
Wayfair has HORRIBLE business ethics regarding cancellation of an order and generally a lack of description on their pages about what is in stock and how materials will be shipped
I generally shop with Amazon who provide transparent and fast delivery
I ordered a rug from Wayfair – it arrived one month late (!!!) and was folded up (instead of rolled as Amazon provides). The folds will not come out – they are so bad that I trip on them! NOT impressed!
I did want to see if Wayfair service would improve as I have a friend who uses Wayfair extensively
I live in Winnipeg and summer is VERY short. I ordered a 3-pc patio set which was to be delivered June 10 – when I checked to see the status – it was then back-ordered? The “back order” statement didn’t appear on the original order and I would not have purchased it had it NOT been in stock. I tried to cancel it and all of a sudden – it is pending shipping!
WHAT!? Wayfair is lying about this – very unethical – one day its back ordered, then when I try to cancel it is magically being shipped (or pending!?)
I suspect that Wayfair changed the order to pending shipping so as not to issue the cancellation.
On June 3 I received an email that the order had shipped and was expected June 2 (the email to me was dated June 3???!!!! ) when I checked the tracking order it was to be delivered on June 4 to AN ADDRESS IN KENTUCKY – NOT MY ADDRESS. On June 5 UPS said it had been delivered – It was NOT delivered to my address and I have proof of the delivery from UPS to Kentucky. I don’t have info on the actual packages shipped but they were ordered on May 25, mine on May 26.
Wayfair Has NO IDEA what they are doing except the fact they are trying to screw consumers
Regardless I have asked for my money refunded several times and instead Wayfair is ignoring me and obviously have NO intention in shipping or delivering in a timely manner
I will be reporting Wayfair to the Better business Bureau and if the refund is not processed by June 8. I will take them to small claims court
I need my money back so I can purchase from a local firm and have a set delivered by a company I can trust – or I will use Amazon as they have NEVER let me down on any purchase
People should stop doing business with this company and then they will learn how to treat customers.
We have ordered a marble vanity weighing more than 300 lb. We have added the option to be delivered on the floor of our choosing (3rd one).
On the day of the delivery a driver and a helper came, barely managed to put the vanity in the foyer and said they cannot bring it to the 3rd floor. They called their supervisor and she told the to put it back in the truck. They told us it would be easier to leave it in the house and reschedule it later when they were going to bring a third person to help. We rescheduled for two days later. As nobody came in the delivery window of 7-11am I called them and the rep told me they cannot reach the driver, but she will call me back in 20 min. She didn’t.
We called again two days later and got the false promise again. As nobody came we called and asked for a manager. The manager lied to us as well and didn’t call as promised.
Finally, my wife called to get the $40 back and she didn’t want me to escalate with my back to put a charge back for the money we would spend to bring up the item.
Wayfair is absolute garbage furniture…and to be honest I really believe they delete negative reviews…I am serious. I bought the Everly velvet Chair…full price was over 1k…open box price I paid was over 400….what it was worth…zero dollars. My daughter who is 12 weighs a 100 pounds was the only person who sat on the chair and yet after only 2 mos of wear the foam in the seat was bowing in the middle…Shitty foam. The sofa was ok but not that great. I paid 1k for the sofa and over 400 for the chair…Thank god I was able to sell them to someone else for what I paid. Live and learn their furniture is no better then Ikea garbage….instead I bought a 150 victorian sofa and had it recoverd and it will last longer then wayfair. I strongly suggest not to buy anything from Wayfair…its garbage
Wayfair is anything but fair: In January of 2021, I found an open box item for an unbelievable price- with tax shipping, the final price would have been $231.66. It was listed at a full price of $1,338.32 BEFORE tax + S&H, Over 85% off!
Less than 48 hours, I received a follow up email informing me that it was no longer available, as it was purchased by someone else near the same time I also had. Fun fact here: there was less than 2 empty lines of text in the emails, the first part being “item not available” before the second half of “here are the full price items you should get instead”

Of course this lead to 4 different phone calls: an operator would apologize multiple times for the issue. It would take several minutes before I would be connected with a ‘Supervisor’. The conversation was a cookie cutter of the previous, except, they couldn’t connect me with anyone else, especially anyone who could fix the issue.
Because there weren’t any remaining options, I gave it up, accepting the multiple ‘we are sorry, this was a fluke in our systems’ excuse.
Then 4 months later: the same item was listed as an open box item except a price increase to $437.52 (final price including tax, S&H). Once again, I PAID FOR THE BED. Wayfair.com accepted the payment withdrawing funds from my accounts. Again I received the Bait and Switch email, suggesting to me other products to buy.
See: Breach of Contract
The new contact I have reached out to me after I filled out a complaint to BBB. He informed me these “one of a kind special items” go quickly and it may happen that situations have two (or more) people purchasing the same item.
HE could not match the price I had bought it at, because they were 2 different items, one new, and the other a ‘open box item’ (a returned item). Both still had the same item number. The packaging was the only difference.
After hours of us going around in circles, he finally placed me on hold, spoke to other peers in the office, and came to me with an offer of the same item “at cost”. Meaning the wholesale cost of the bed to Wayfair. about $750, 325% more than the first purchase.
They didn’t want to correct the mistakes. They still wanted me to spend more that I had already agreed to. The offering was to send a bed from their vendor to me, as long as it didn’t cost wayfair anything. I was to increase my spending.
After a while of that, he finally offered to call me back with a possible solution, which was the second price I was willing to pay in April. Meaning after understanding the bad business, if not fully illegal actions Wayfair did, he looked at the deals already agreed to and chose the one that saved Wayfair the most money, in turn still cost the most from me.
The biggest irony of all of this is the name. Wayfair should be called Greed, or Customer Service-less. Anything but fair, rather Wayfair. I have never seen a retail store refuse to do “ the right thing” or at least attempt something in the ballpark of fair. There are Huge companies that diligently raise the level of customer satisfaction to a pillar of the business model. Wayfair falls completely short on all of that.
Wayfair is unreliable. I have ordered from them three times, but I will never order anything again. They have charged my credit card but refuse to ship the product. I have contacted Wayfair numerous times about this issue but no one will respond. I am currently requesting my credit card company to treat this Wayfair transgression as credit card fraud.
Please do not get involved with this company in any way. I do not know if Wayfair is a legitimate company with no products, business skills, and customer service representatives, or if this is simply a front for a fraud ring, and a con-artist stealing money through credit card malfeasance? I wish I could say one thing positive about Wayfair but I cannot.
this is a unreliable website. If you want to purchase something from this website make sure to purchase same item from reliable store cause wayfare website is not update and they cancel your order after couple days.I just called them to send me another one after they cancel my order and they ask me for more money. If you talk to JENEDIE the one work in customer service you would not get any respond from her.
RUDE AND HATEFUL CUSTOMER SERVICE
Will never order from Wayfair again since this company decided it wanted to throw their opinions in the POLITICAL ring!
Wayfair decided it was a good idea to stop offering “MY PILLOW” because Mike is a Christian and a conservative!
So the playground equipment I wanted to order and the living room furniture for upstairs and the downstairs will be bought elsewhere! I hope Wayfair goes out of business. Bye ?
Most terrible company ever.. CHEAP PRODUCTS, terrible phone reps who can not do anything except take an order. Ive been transferred 4 times in 17 minuets due to phone reps not knowing very much of the way their company works.. Just another company that wants to screw you.. STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY..
I will NEVER attempt to buy from this company again. I was treated like a criminal… just for attempting to purchase a couch with a debit card that had a different address than the place I wanted the couch shipped to! I’ve never heard of such a thing! This wasn’t a credit card, it was debit, and the account had plenty of funds. They initially refused to process the order, it was cancelled without explanation. So we double checked funds, it wasn’t that, and put it through again. Again, it was cancelled. So I called and was barraged with a security questions, card info billing address of card… all of which of course I had. They STILL REFUSED to ship it to my apartment because that card uses my mailing address, which is my mom’s house a few towns over. They would only ship it to HER!!! Really??? Well, they not only lost a $700 sale, but they lost a customer that would have been worth many thousands over the years. Bob’s Furniture got my business. I’ve never heard of anything so ridiculous, I’ve used that card to ship to my apartment address a zillion times.
I was very disappointed in Pergold /Wayfair. Delivery of my desk I ordered was in a box so you have no way of knowing is it damaged or not. They just leave the box and take off. The delivery service is the worst they never communicate and have you waiting all day and don’t show up. Never again will I order from them for nothing.
Hello, I had a Comenity Credit Card with Wayfair. I have probably ordered between $2,000 – $4,000 in merchandise. Some had few issues that I addressed after receiving, ex) tufted chair popped buttons (broken buttons, etc…). I have always paid my bill early. Now that they are with Citi I could not get a card. I really just wanted to let Wayfiar know that even though I have had a relationship with Wayfair for years this new action tells me that I should be taking my business and money elsewhere. Thank you Wayfair for dumping all over me.
Bought a rug, FADED IN NO TIME AT ALL, EVEN THOUGH ADVERTISED FOR INDOOR/OUTDOOR; AND THE SIDE IS ALREADY COMING APART AND FRAYING, THIS COMPANY OFFERED A $20 GIFT CERTIFICATE! unbelievable! Poor product, READ THE REVIEWS ON HERE BEFORE PURCHASING ANYTHING FROM THIS COMPANY! I won’t do it again.
WARNING! DO NOT BUY THIS or any RUG; HALF OF ONE SIDE OF THE RUG IS FRAYING, THE SEWING IS HORRIBLE, SO NOT ONLY FADED, BUT FALLING APART!
I wish I would have read the reviews on the Andover Mills Miraloma Floral Color indoor/outdoor rug; IT IS NOT AN OUTDOOR RUG. THIS IS the first chance I was able to write a review, and so sorry if other’s bought it, and found it faded within weeks! I had it covered with umbrellas so as to retain the color and it didn’t matter. Truly disappointed. Once I get burned from an online seller, I never ever return.
TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. I purchased a wrong size on a product and went and cancelled the order immediatly before it even went into the “PROCESSING” state. I received a notification that my order was pending cancellation and refund. Well that’s not true! THEY KEPT MY MONEY AND SHIPPED THE PRODUCT ANYWAYS! So I had to open a case with my bank to get my money back and I refused DELIVERY when it came. WHY OFFER THE CANCEL YOU ORDER IF YOU AREN’T EVEN GOING TO ACKNOWLEDGE IT!!! I will NO LONGER be shopping with WAYFAIR!
Ridiculous waste of time, waited 3 times for someone to come and assemble a tv stand with fireplace, waited until the last minute and then sent emails cancelling……….offered a reschedule and then cancelled that also. Big waste of time, energy and money. Ended up telling them we would assemble the thing ourselves,,,,,,only hope now is that it isn’t damaged in the box.
I watched and placed a couple items in the Cart, had a coupon for Professional Account, so I called Customer Service to inquiry if I could start a professional account to take advantage of 10% coupon. Person in Customer Service asked me to call in the morning but leave the items in the Cart. I opened the Cart in the morning and Wayfair increased the prices only because I was interested in purchasing. I remembered the price from the night before, so I called Customer Service and explained that price was increased, obviously only because I intended to purchase and apply 10% discount. Natalie from Wayfair said that they can increase prices anytime they feel like. I agree that Wayfair is a scam, they increase prices because someone is interested in purchasing. Be aware if you are watching a product for awhile, and especially if you place it in your cart.
Do business with this company at your own risk! 2-3 hrs on hold every time. damaged product every time. Cheap crap every time. More interested in selling your data than selling quality goods. Opened credit card accnt without permission. This company very unethical.
I think Wayfair sells “seconds”.
Ordered a bed in a box on black Friday, 2 day delivery. Here it is 12/11/2019 and no bed. I have been in touch with customer service 4 times, with no results. They took the money right away, but have done nothing for me. They did offer a 10% discount if I was ever dumb enough to order from them again after this fiasco.
If you need something in a timely manner go with somebody else. They seem to have trouble scheduling also, they might tell you you’ll get your order Tuesday but lucky to get it by Wednesday or Thursday.
Bought a love seat but when it was delivered it smelled very strongly of mold. Got on the phone with customer service and they shipped a new love seat.
That second one just arrived and smells just as strongly of mold. Now we have two love seats sitting in our driveway reeking of mold and we were told it is our responsibility to find a donation center or pay to trash them.
Complete waste of resources.
It really sucks when businesses use our worlds resources to make products and then do a half ass job at keeping those products fresh so they are not trashed and wasted. I hate wasting.
Its a huge bummer that I now have to potentially throw away these love seats if a donation center will not take them.
This is not ok Wayfair.
Received a package today- my first order- the lamp is obviously used and was haphazardly re-packaged. Very unprofessional; I don’t want to return it since others have said that is also a bad experience! What a bummer. I won’t be ordering from Wayfair again!
Terrible company in my opinion. I tried to place an order for one item from them and there were at least a dozen errors and I never got it anyway. Beware if it says it is in stock. Most likely is out of stock so if you are getting something for somebody as a gift, you’re screwed. Try to call for help, pack your lunch. I waiting one time an hour and a half.
DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY YOU WILL BE SORRY……….VERY SHADY PRACTICES.
CONTACT ME BEFORE USING THIS COMPANY YOU WILL BE GLAD YOU DID.

NEVER EVER BUY FROM WAYFAIR. INFERIOR MATERIALS, USELESS ASSEMBLY OPTIONS AND USELESS EVERYTHING
After waiting 2 hours on hold I got an a terribly rude rep who hung up on me when I asked for a manager. I have worked in customer service for 5 years and know what they go through, so I make sure and be very respectful and polite no matter how frustrated I am. I would have to wait on hold another 2 hours to complain. I went ahead and cancelled my $1,500 order I had questions on because their website wasn’t clear and went somewhere else.
As a new customer, I ordered a product from Wayfair.com. Originally it stated that the item would arrive within a couple of days. After I placed the order I got a notice that said it wouldn’t arrive for over a week. So I cancelled the order and found the same item on Amazon which I received the next day and at a better price. I also ordered a second furniture item from Wayfair that same day. After placing it I read a couple of reviews that implied it was not a quality item and was also sized more for a child than an adult. So I cancelled that order right away and confirmed it with a phone call to customer service. A day or two later I received both cancelled items and also discovered that one of them had been charged to my new Wayfair credit card without my permission. (Originally I had made payment with my debit card.) I returned both items the same day they arrived and spoke with customer service who said they’d cancel the payment charged on my Wayfair credit card. After so many mistakes in a short period of time, I asked them to close my account. I decided that Wayfair didn’t seem to have very good communication between departments and as a whole seemed disorganized. I thought at that time that my account was all paid up but I discovered later that I still had a small balance due from an earlier purchase. So I confirmed with customer service the total amount due and then went online and made the full payment that same day. A month later I received a new bill stating that my payment had been a day late and they were then charging me a $25 late fee with interest on top of it. After reaching out again to customer service they stated that even though I had been told what my current balance was at the time of payment and in spite of them failing to inform me of a possible late fee and even though I paid the balance stated online, there was nothing they could do since the account had been closed. In order to avoid future late fees and charges, I’d have to pay the new balance due. I paid the extra charges begrudgingly and mentioned that I’d be writing this review. So, I’m through with the dismal, shortlived Wayfair experience. I’m sticking with Amazon from now on.
I strongly discourage anyone from buying from them. I placed an order and a couple of days later my order was cancelled. I called to inquiry and was given a history of ordering items I never ordered. I explained that that was my very first item. However, the manager explained they linked my account to another persons account (that they have blackballed) based on the shipping address and told me that I will need to create a new account and new email if I want to order from them and not to use that address for billing or shipping.
So, now companies get to tell you where you can have your items shipped?
Have haD to complain to wayfair as our garden swing had a small piece broken, we rang and was told the new part would take 2 weeks!! It would fit in a Jiffy bag and could be sent straight away surely. Part arrived. Incorrect part. Rang a very helpful guy who has ordered the correct part we hope!!! But again not shipping till July 10th, so at least another two weeks. This is ridiculous for such a tiny part. The summer will be over before our grandkids can use the swing safely. Really not happy. Will not use them again. This was several hundreds of pounds so not cheap.
Will not buy from wayfair again they ripp u off on returns I will stay with amazon . wish i have never bought from wayfair
This is the worst company I have ever bought from. We ordered a patio set and it took 6 weeks to get here. When we checked the boxes, we found they had sent the wrong table base. I called customer service, which took two hours. They said they would ship out the right one the following week and I would get it in seven days. Seven days went by and I called again. They said they would ship it the following week, but it never came. I called again and the girl said I should get it by Christmas. I ordered it in June. I would never order again from this company. We have waited two months and we still can’t use our set.
Purchased a pair of drapes from Wayfair.com for $77. Later saw them from the company that made them for $48. Amazon had them $54. Their pricing is exorbitant. Buyer beware. Don’t make the mistake I made. Do your homework before you make a purchase. They also do not price match. I asked. They have lost a customer.
3 times is not a charm with Wayfair. 3 orders and 3 damaged pieces. The boxes were not damaged so it had to have been packed with the damage already done. When I called about the damage I got the same reply – can we give you a discount to keep the item. I think that it is a scam they have going dealing in damaged goods. Was willing to except a replacement first time around and it came in a perfectly good box and a broken leg and 2 damaged draws. If the other two item weren’t in route I would not have ordered. Both pieces came in perfect packaging and 1 had a big dent in the side and the other had a broken corner. Returning and waiting for replacements only to have it damaged is a headache. I’d rather pay $200 more and have it right.
Wayfair is apparently incapable to successfully complete an order. While the prices are reasonable, goods almost always arrive damaged or the wrong item is shipped. Save your money and buy locally.
I have placed an order with Wayfair.ca on August 1, 2019 for the futon sofa with the delivery on August 14, 2019. The day before the expected delivery I have contacted Wayfair customer service and the lady named Deborah E. after checking her system told me that delivery will be on time and I should wait for Fedex next day. I took a day off and that day was wasted for nothing as the delivery never happened. I have called Wayfair and they checked it again, that time my case was escalated to the supervisor Sarah. She told me that the item I have ordered is on back order and she is very sorry, she has adjusted the price for me as a compensation for the trouble for about $150 and promised the “for sure” delivery on August 27, 2019. On August 26, 2019 I have called Wayfair and talked to Megan, I have asked her the same question “when my item will be delivered?”. She promised me to check with the warehouse and call me back. In an hour she left me a voice mail confirming the delivery on August 27, 2019. In an hour after I checked Wayfair website and it was saying there that the delivery will be on September 4, 2019. Sounds like Groundhog day. At this point I called Wayfair and talked to the supervisor Scotty who has transferred me to another lady who said that the item is on back order and they don’t know when it will be delivered.
After so many lies and unfulfilled promises I have cancelled my order with Wayfair.
They don’t know what is going on with their warehouse and because of that they are selling “air” or in the other words they don’t have stuff they are selling.
I have wasted a month and now need to rush through local stores to find the sofa as I have guests coming in a week.
Stay away from Wayfair! They lure customers with fair pricing but behind their website is nothing but the trouble.

When my bed in a bag arrived, it was poorly shipped and everything was wrinkled and strings were hanging every where I’m sure it’s piece work..I had to take it to a tailor to fix it..because I never received the return shipping label I requested..I’ll never order from wayfair again…it seems everything comes from China…I’ll stick with my local stores….what JUNK…
They lie from the start and keep lying. I read the Q and A about a product. After i receive the product and end up talking directly with the manufacturer, turns out info about my product PROVIDED BY A WAYFAIR employee is wrong. Even when I point out the error, they don’t correct it.
When I order, they ask for my phone # just for “delivery.” No, right away they use that same phone number to send me a text thanking me for my order. And today, after product was delivered 2 days ago, they’ve call me 2X AT 7:30 ON A SAT MORN. (!!!???) I didn’t pick up because I didn’t know who it was. neither time did they have courtesy to say why calling in a voicemail.
Product arrived damaged. My alternatives were too send it back which would’ve been a huge hassle since the item is big, or get a 12% discount on purchase price. I offered to send photos but no, 12% is highest they go.
My first and last time to buy from Mayfair. They suck.
My mother just moved into assisted living and bought a Wayfair chest- the Julian 4 drawer for her bedroom. She paid for assembly and it was put together incorrectly. Another assembly guy came out to fix it after she called it in, and he didn’t fix it either but extorted her for 20 more dollars. The tail doesn’t know what the head is doing. It is a shame to treat an elderly person like this.
Worst customer service ever. Had trouble with discount code online. Called customer service to place order. Was told pricing increased 25% same day! Nothing manager could do to help!
We ordered a set of two living room lamps. They came tonus with the wrong shade color and style!
The item description AND picture shows the ‘copper gold fabric shades’, BUT, instead we received pure WHITE linen shades that were not correct and no way would go with this lamp style.
After messaging them five times, with them requesting us to take pictures of the shade, then saying they needed more information, so we send more pictures zoomed in, so sending multiple pictures of the shade and tag identification they came back saying these WERE the correct shades!
A family member noticed the lamp shade had an extra O on the tag end, so that was the error, but Wayfair still didn’t acknowledge this and expected us to keep these very ugly lamp shades! Grrrr
They were sent back and we demanded a FULL refund, this was our first time ordering from them, and will be the last. Very disappointed and frustrated to say the least!
Beware that if you want to return something, such as a product that was incorrectly listed as 100% cotton but when it arrives it is 60% polyester, you will have to pay a return shipping fee. In my case, it was $12 out of a $30 purchase, completely not worth it for me.
I was given a gift from Wayfair. It arrived damaged. I contacted via email. NO response. I spent over 2 hours on various of their phone numbers. The customer service number was over 1 hour and 45 minutes. Another number over 15 min. So far as I am concerned I will NEVER DO BUSINESS WITH THEM
I just sent home a handyman who arrived to find the glass in my cabinet package broken. I attempted to buy a similar cabinet from Wayfair this summer and the same thing happened twice. After the 3rd package arrived with a different defective part, I abandoned the whole project and took my refund – still no cabinet in my apartment. I thought that was a freak accident and decided to give Wayfair another chance last week. However, now I understand that the packaging or transit process is faulty since this happened again – shattered glass in the package that arrived. I was shocked to talk over the phone with a customer service agent about this and learn that not only will Wayfair not give any type of credit for this (you did not over the summer either) they also expect me AGAIN to figure out how to dispose of the broken cabinet. These boxes each weight 50-70 lbs and I cannot lift these on my own – so this is actually giving me another job to do. Adding insult to injury, the customer service agent kept telling me that he was “resolving” the issue by simply giving me a refund and trying to argue that my disposing of the defective item myself was “more convenient” for me. Come on. I am pretty done with this company.
I have ordered with wayfair in the past and was happy with the service and delivery, unfortunately I didn’t go thru online reviews before ordering again. Ordered and entertainment unit on 23rd Nov 2019, which is currently advertised as order now and get it delivered by 21st Jan (3days). The original delivery date was 14th Jan. No intimation or email, called up on 13th to confirm delivery and I was told it was pushed to 21st Jan (no reason given). They did refund £65 of the £650 order after I sent a complaint email. Called up today to check if the date is still on and I’ve been told the delivery will now be on 4th Feb again no reason given and they didnt send any email or text telling about the delay. How in the world are they advertising a 3 day fast delivery? This I would say is fraud!
The day after ordering and paying for patio furniture the Wayfair price dropped substantially. My request for a price adjustment on my order was denied. They suggested I return and reorder. But with Wayfair you have to pay return shipping, so what is the point except a complete waste of time and cost. They should remove “fair” from their name.
