5.6 Total Score

Overall, Grammarly provides a great service to anyone that has to write often for work or personal life. The browser add-ons are a good tool for anything that you might have to write online. After trying it out myself, I came away very impressed with the capabilities and helpful suggestions it had for my writing. can help teach you the grammar that you never learned in school, and ensure that you have the proper grammar before you send out important documents. Grammarly is free for some of the basic tools that they provide, but it is also worth it for the premium features, if you write a lot. You can be assured that Grammarly is safe to use as more than 6 million users have followed them through Facebook, and thousands of positive reviews.

Pros: Grammarly Review

Grammarly is great service that allows you to check your writing for spelling, grammar and punctuation errors.

They have several different tools that work together to ensure your writing is error-free.

Some of these include a Spell Check, Plagiarism Checker, and Proofreading tool.

Premium members have access to even more tools include a newly updated MS Office Add-in.

While MS Office may have some tools for checking your grammar, Grammarly goes many steps further.

Grammarly will go to the point of checking context, vocabulary suggestions, and check against 250 different grammar rules.

They also have convenient browser add-ons for when you are writing online. Grammarly comes with a 7-day money back guarantee.

  • 7-Day Money Back Guarantee
  • Spell Check, Plagiarism Checker, and Proofreading Tools
  • Browser Add-Ons For Writing Online
  • MS Office® Add-in Available with Premium Membership Fees
  • Grammar Suggestions With Explanations
  • Grammarly Editor Used for Error-Checking Your Writing
  • Access Documents on Multiple Devices
  • 250 Grammar Rules, With Contextual Spelling Check and Vocabulary Suggestions

Cons: Grammarly Review

The only real drawback I felt had an impact on their service is the 7-day money back guarantee.

As a writer, 7-days is a very short time to fully try out a service and explore all of the capabilities of the tools and their functions.

If they were able to change this to a 14-day money back guarantee, I would feel more comfortable buying the service knowing I would have plenty of time to try it.

The other drawback that I’m sure they are working on at Grammarly has to do with compatibility.

As of right now, the MS Office Add-On is only available to computers running windows.

  • MS Office® Add-in Not Compatible with Mac
  • Subscriptions Fees For Advanced Versions

  1. Article never addresses headline claim “Is Grammarly safe?”

Can I use this for work involving confidential reports?
Do I need to disable Grammarly when typing in passwords?
…the list of concerns goes on.
