Cons: Eyeconic Review
There were only a few things drawbacks that I found with Eyeconic.
Firstly, the return process can take a few weeks. This can be a bit of a hassle, but I found it’s actually common with most retailers.
Eyeconic.com also doesn’t carry every brand of eyeglass.
However, most of the brands they do offer are pretty good quality.
The prices on their glasses are also not cheap, but you can get this reduced using insurance coverage.
- Refunds Can Take 2 Weeks
- Limited Brands

Trying on my new glasses ( Eyeconic Review)
Hey guys I was mad of multiple reasons after school/practice. I had to make this video the same day because i had to know if i was going to wear them the next ...
I am a VSP member and saw that I could order glasses online with my insurance through eyeconic.com. I was skeptical at first as I wondered how they would be made and fit. I have always ordered eyeglasses in person. The virtual try on is great and helped me pick these glasses. Using my insurance I was able to get all the options I needed including progressive lenses for $100! I placed the order and two weeks later glasses arrived and were perfect. I put them on and they were just a bit tight so I printed the form from eyeconic to have complimentary fitting done at any VSP provider. The eye doctor office I went to had no idea what the form was for but adjusted the glasses for free. I will absolutely use this company again for my next pair of glasses.
The user’s scores are pretty close to what I experienced with my first encounter with this company. The company is certainly legit, and I think that is where we stop giving them stars. All other categories are a fail. Here’s why I wish there was an option for ZERO stars or a negative star rating. This company really does not care if you are happy or pissed off. Eyeconic sends you a pair of glasses, probably the ones you ordered but not the correct prescription. I spoke with an agent via chat, she gave me many auto-responses. The first was, “We’ve passed along your concerns to the appropriate department, and we really appreciate that you took the time to leave us some feedback.” This statement popped up right after I hit enter. AUTO! BOT! I never received any resolution to my issue, the wrong prescription. Ended up without glasses additional 6 weeks. Eyeconic does not care.
Six weeks and still no sign of my son’s new glasses. I started calling after three weeks of waiting. I wait on hold 45 mins to an hour every time that I call. I am then told that it will only take “a little longer” and they won’t tell me why it is taking so long. I never would have used this company, but it was one that was recommended by my insurance company. I called my insurance to recommend that they take Eyeconic.com off of their recommendation list.
I placed an order on November 30,2020 with a message to expect my order in 4-7 days. December 31, 2020, and I am still waiting. Numerous attempts to request updates via email have not received any response. Wait times via phone is over 1 hour. Call back option does not work.
Progressive lenses were going to cost me $460 locally. I was able to get the frames and lenses for $240 on eyeconic. (Pricing includes anti glare and transition)
We’re you charged an extra separate charge of 1.00 on your credit card?
I wanted YSL glasses which they had for 405 USD. Everywhere else on discount website the same YSL glasses were 179. They have price match but they tried to scam me into thinking they will only price match after VSP reduction. THIS IS NOT TRUE! VSP is my money from my insurance which I have overpaid for!!! I spoke with 5 different reps who all gave me different final out of pocket prices. One said they couldnt price match because my website was not polycarbonate lenses (they were!!). Another said my websites (I had 3 , were not valid). They said anything to not give me the price match. I finally got fed up, recorded the lying bastards and got a manager to finally contact me and she pretended that everyone else had made “mistakes” and that they would be “retaught”. It smelled miles away of shady scam.At the end I got my 405 USD glasses for 110 out of pocket including lenses. Eyeconic should be ashamed of their practices. I had to use them to get what I wanted but it was no walk in the park. Avoid them and if you do need to use them then dont take their lying bull.
I’m not sure why these other reviews are so negative. If you understand your own insurance, then using this site is a breeze. I ordered my glasses with the limited time “free 2nd day shipping” promise. Yes, it took longer than 2 days to receive because if you read the fine print it takes longer than two days to make these glasses–which in my opinion is great because that means my glasses aren’t just cheaply/quickly made then shipped.
2nd day shipping means that once your glasses are made, they will put priority shipping on them…which is so nice and I’m sure they are actually losing money for it.
If you went to your eye doctor’s office and ordered glasses after your appointment, would you expect to have it in 2 days? No. So why would this be different? Just have your prescription ready to go upon checkout and the rest is easy. It takes longer if you have them personally check with your doctor about your prescription, so don’t get mad when if that happens.
Also, someone in these reviews mentioned that some of the frames are made in China… yeah well so are iPhones. But the lenses from Eyeconic are made in the U.S. and are included in the price. I’ve purchased from cheap eyewear sites and have never liked the glasses I’ve received. I wear my glasses from Eyeconic daily.
Received defective glasses. Coating peeled off. Received replacement since the glasses were under warranty, with the very same defect. Since its a one-time warranty I am out of luck now. Buyers beware.
I had a couple of challenges with Eyeconic and most likely will go back to Lens.com. When I ordered my contacts, they could not tell me when they would ship. After I received my contacts, I had to call because I did not receive a credit I was expecting. I was not told by customer service that when you have a promo code that they reduce the price match. Hence, I ordered an extra box of contacts thinking I had an unused benefit. I also felt the process in ordering took a lot longer than Lens.com
Very Good and usefull website that allows your VSP benefits linked to their site and make it easy for you to select the right glasses and discounted brands. Like Rayban and lacoste,Nike are some of them.
I totally satisfied with my purchase and 01 /17/ 20 i got my order and i checked my prescription glasses.Frame qaulity and finishing is very good and durable. I Choose Rayban.
Would Recommend EYECONIC website to everyone specially if you have prescription ready and have VSP benefits.
I havent found any Disadvantages.
Only think that came in my mind is that it took little longer to get my order.
Shipping is very quick but order itself took 3 weeks to complete.
Note: There is no shiipping fee at all. It came quick once they shipped.
Eyeconic cannot provide lined bifocal or trifocal lenses even though your prescription calls for them and they do not tell you that during the ordering process. They shipped me single vision lenses too late in the year to return them and have them made locally, wasting my year’s insurance benefits.
Horrible experience with Eyeconic and if they partnered with VSP, while do I still end up paying $62.50 for my Sunglasses? My Frames that were Cole Haan ended up being $165 and realized they were made in China? I am sorry but that is just too much for frames made in China. I think its really shady how they get you on the lenses, you would think a partnership would create a discount, nope.
Iphone is also made in China. Then why so many people would like to pay north of 600 dollars for an iphone?
My glasses arrived with lenses not attached to frames csr said to send back and get replacement afterb10 additional days from time they received returns
I have been their customer for the 3rd straight year. Buying prescription sunglasses from them which is very high profit margin. This time when i referred somebody – I was suppose to get $10 – I haven’t got that. On top of it – my prescription sunglasses took around 4 weeks to be done. Stay away from them – there is no way they are going to see me next year. Worst when i called on 26th Nov 2019, the lady when she is asked some real questions after “How are you doing?” kind of stuff is telling that i am raising my voice. She is making all sort of lousy excuses and have no idea why it’s taking so long.
Eyeconics does not make their shipping and processing time clear on their website. I ordered while they advertised 2 day shipping. They have no order tracking system. When i waited a week for my glasses, I called and they said it would be another week. So i cancelled. The same brands are sold in town at places that can make my glasses and put them on my face for less money before my lunch break is even over. I do not reccommend eyeconics.
They do have friendly customer service represemtatives though.
Like the other comments here, my experience has been very bad. I order contacts for my daughter the end of January after my vision insurance recommended these people. About two weeks later, I received an email that they were on backorder. When I called them in early March because we were going to pick me daughter up and bring her home due to COVID-19, they said they shipped them to her. When we picked her up a week later, no contacts. Now they are stringing is along saying UPS is doing a lost package evaluation and I’d they cannot find it in 8-10 days, I will have to reorder and do the entire process over again! DO NOT ORDER from these people unless you want your money tied up and your vision held hostage! They are unable to deliver at best and schisters at worst!
Also, they did use my vsp insurance. They contacted my doctor to confirm my prescription…but that alone took 3 days.
eyeconic is a scam site. Trust me here. Everything is double the price it should be – check for yourself – and they bring people in because it is a link straight from vsp. Think triple the price of a product and then having a 50% off sale kind of scam.
Their customer “service” is perhaps the worst I have ever seen, and I have been around the block. I have never, ever written a poor review online – just not my style or worth my time, but eyeconic deserves this black eye. Loathsome site and company. Please go anywhere else – much better deals, better service.
Eyeconics took too long to process the order. it took them 5 days to verify prescription and then another 19 days to process the order, ship it and then finally have it delivered. All I get is a bunch of excuses. I never had to wait more than 7 days for glasses. I would not recommend Eyeconics and I’m never using them again.
Do not use this service provider. Not only did it take weeks for my order to be filled, but I just received notice from UPS that the delivery will be delayed. Thank God the glasses are no longer being held at Eyeconic. If you have a few months to wait for your glasses – this is your place. If not, go elsewhere.
